Heartfelt Nursing and Frail Care Home

Heartfelt Home was established and is run by Helen and Mark van Breda. Helen’s mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s just before her parents' 50th wedding anniversary, which has added to Helen’s passion to assist others faced with the same and similar condition.

As a family, they were overwhelmed and afraid as they had no idea of what to expect. Helen describes her mother as always being a very capable homemaker and gardener and it was heart-breaking to see her in an environment that was devoid of flowers, tenderness and space to walk.

This was her inspiration to create a home that feels like “home” but functions efficiently – a place where she would have been happy to bring her mom. Her dream became a reality as in May 2008 the building of Heartfelt Home was completed.

“It is a great privilege to create a caring environment where our residents can relax on our large sunny verandah, or enjoy the varied activities that keep them entertained.”

The nursing sisters manage the medical care of each individual with precision and close attention. Facilitators pick up the afternoons with enthusiasm, initiating and managing activities geared to each individual's needs. Carers manage the day-to-day cleanliness and comfort of each resident. The cooks follow a vast menu of carefully prepared meals.

“At Heartfelt Home, it is our mission to treat each person with the utmost respect as we lovingly take care of their varied needs and security, providing a service that can offer the family peace of mind.”

...his works may be plainly showed for what they are - Wrought with God, divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence on Him!

What our clients had to say...

"Heartfelt is like a 5 star lodge. My father-in-law has experienced love, kindness and day to day individual care and attention which cannot be compared to any 'old age home or frail care' that I have ever seen. It is truly a place of beauty and serenity." - Dr Sue Parkes
